Terms of Service

Welcome to MyShare (hereinafter "the App"). These Terms of Service (hereinafter "the Agreement") constitute an agreement between you (hereinafter "the User") and the App developer regarding your use of the App. Please read and fully understand all contents of this Agreement before using the App.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to accept all terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree with any content of this Agreement, please do not use the App.

1. Service Description

The App is a cross-platform file sharing tool based on local area network (LAN), supporting Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, and HarmonyOS platforms. The core features provided by the App include:

• LAN file transfer: Peer-to-peer file transfer between devices on the same network, supporting any file type and size.
• Automatic device discovery: Automatically discover other devices running the App on the same network via LAN multicast.
• Shared groups: Create or join LAN shared groups (rooms) for multi-device file and message sharing.
• QR code invitation: Quickly join shared groups by scanning QR codes.
• Transfer history: View locally recorded lists of sent and received files.
• Multi-platform support: Seamlessly transfer files between phones, tablets, computers, and other device types.

All features of the App are completed within the LAN, do not depend on an internet connection, and do not pass through any cloud server. The App is free software — no fees are charged, no ads are included, and no account registration is required.

2. User Conduct

When using the App, you shall comply with the following:

• Comply with applicable laws and regulations of your country/region.
• Do not use the App to transfer any content that violates laws and regulations, including but not limited to illegal information, infringing content, or malware.
• Do not use the App to engage in any activity that infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of others.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App (except as permitted by the open-source license).
• Do not use the App's protocol or interfaces to develop compatible products that may harm other users' interests.

You understand and agree that the App merely provides a technical tool for file transfer and assumes no obligation to review the content you transfer. You shall bear full legal responsibility for the content you transfer.

3. Intellectual Property

• App code: The App is built on the LocalSend protocol, and its source code is open on the Gitee platform. Use of the source code is subject to the corresponding open-source license.
• Brand identity: The intellectual property rights of MyShare's name, logo, icons, and other brand identifiers belong to the developer. Unauthorized use in commercial activities is prohibited.
• User content: The intellectual property rights of all files, messages, and other content you transfer through the App belong to you or the original rights holder. The App does not claim any rights to your content.

4. Privacy Protection

The App places great importance on user privacy protection. For information about the collection, use, storage, and protection of personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is an inseparable part of this Agreement.

In brief: the App does not collect any personal identifiers, does not upload any user data, and all file transfers and data storage are completed within your device and local network.

5. Disclaimer

You understand and agree that, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Service provided "as is": The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The developer makes no express or implied warranties regarding the App's suitability, reliability, accuracy, or completeness.
• Transfer risks: Although the App uses TLS-encrypted transfer channels, you understand that the security of the LAN environment depends on your network configuration. The developer is not liable for data breaches caused by insecure network environments.
• Data loss: The developer is not liable for local data loss caused by device failure, operating system updates, App uninstallation, or other reasons. We recommend you regularly back up important files.
• Indirect damages: The developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of profits, data loss, or business interruption.
• Third-party behavior: The developer is not responsible for the behavior of other users on the same LAN. You should exercise your own judgment when deciding whether to accept connection requests from unknown devices.

6. Service Changes and Termination

• Feature updates: The developer reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue any or all features of the App at any time without prior notice.
• Agreement changes: The developer has the right to modify the terms of this Agreement as needed. Modified terms will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after modification constitutes acceptance of the modified Agreement.
• Termination: You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time, at which point this Agreement terminates. Uninstalling the App will clear all local data.

7. Open-Source License

The App's source code is publicly available on the Gitee platform. You may view, study, and modify the source code, provided you comply with the terms of the corresponding open-source license. The specific terms of the open-source license are governed by the LICENSE file in the source code repository.

The App implements cross-device compatibility based on the LocalSend protocol. Rights related to the LocalSend protocol are subject to its original license terms.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• The formation, execution, interpretation, and dispute resolution of this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding the laws of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions).
• Any dispute arising from or related to this Agreement shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation.
• If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the competent court at the developer's location.

9. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement: This Agreement (including the Privacy Policy) constitutes the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the use of the App, superseding any prior oral or written agreements.
• Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
• Reservation of rights: The developer's failure or delay in exercising any right under this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that right.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under this Agreement to any third party without the developer's written consent.
